COMPANY BACKGROUND

• Alescon Readymix Limited (ARL) was founded in 1982 and began operations as a manufacturer of Readymix concrete in March 1983 at its head office in Charlieville, Chaguanas.

• At Alescon the main focus has always been customer satisfaction, quality assurance as well as staff safety, training and development. To this end the technical competencies of employees are constantly being upgraded, with several employees attending World of Concrete (the largest international trade show on concrete) and programs offered by the ECA (Employers Consultative Association) and Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business.

• The company follows all testing methods approved under the ASTM and ACI standards for testing of inputs (aggregates etc.) as well as fresh concrete. To this end we have a fully equipped lab facility for in house testing as well as independent testing at CARIRI.

• Our technical knowledge and years of experience gives us the ability to design specialized concrete mixes that are required for larger jobs. With the introduction of our mobile plants we have the ability to undertake distant and remote jobs.

• Our quality is further enhanced since we mine and process a substantial quantity of our aggregates. Our aggregates are double processed and blended to ensure only the highest quality inputs for our Readymix concrete. This allows us to offer a high quality product at a competitive price.
• We supply concrete for private family homes to the construction of major plants.

• Our subsidiary company (Swan Quarries Limited) allows us a fully integrated operation from mining, processing and delivery of concrete).

• We have a staff level of 134 employees with a management staff of approximately 6 persons and administrative and technical staff of approximately 39 employees.
